Sophie Scholl was a German activist who spoke out against the Nazi regime and was a member of a protest group called The White Rose. The group mainly consisted of students in their early twenties who were fed up with the totalitarian rule of the government and distributed leaflets urging their fellow Germans to oppose the regime through non-violent resistance. On 22nd February 1943, after the release of the sixth White Rose leaflet, Sophie was arrested by the Gestapo, convicted of treason and executed that same day by guillotine. She was 21 years old.

things to do now:
-push disillusioned liberals to the left. propagandize the shit outta that. make sure people know not just how the DNC sabotaged itself by cleansing itself of anything even superficially leftist, but also how this is just one example of liberalism’s complete inability to fight against white supremacy and fascism.
-organize. connect with your local BLM groups, unions, community groups, leftist political orgs, student activists - and especially any group aimed at protecting and aiding immigrants. do not bother with any petty sectarian leftist squabble for the near future just build off what needs to be done now to protect people and combat this threat.
-have zero tolerance for white supremacists. fellow white people, do not harbour racists in your friend groups, families, communities. unless you are totally unable or unsafe to do so, tear into those people in whatever way is most effective. do not let that slide ever. and set an example. liberals have been building up the idea that trump’s white supremacy is a threat (never planning for it to actually manifest). you can spend less time explaining why it’s a threat and more time showing how to combat it by weeding it out of your communities and lending your energy to its victims.

- I don’t know what’s wrong with y’all that you can’t recognize that the 2016 Democratic platform was a major political victory; it meant they actually took us seriously. Was it perfect? - Politically moderate people of color who went Republican are more interesting to the DNC than the bitchy radical left.

- You don’t get a seat at the table by never showing up. You don’t get a seat at the table by demanding that someone prioritize your interests above all others and then hanging them out to dry. You are political poison, do you understand that? You’re about to find out what happens when you’re not worth “pandering” to. I only wish you’d had the decency to fuck yourselves over & leave the rest of us out of it.
- You sit here and you have the gall to complain about third-parties and “changing the system” but you never fucking do the work that gives you the tools to change the system. Can we get rid of the Electoral College? Can we try a ranked voting system? Can we talk about HOW to make third parties viable for everyone? Given the way the EC works, you will always and inevitably betray your own interests by voting third party. You can’t make third parties viable without first seizing the power to change shit around. You can’t make third parties viable by demonstrating, again, that they only ever fuck over you & your closest potential allies.
- I don’t think there’s a future for liberalism / leftism in this country. I’ve never respected the American left because you never value the folks of color who take the brunt of the beating when you fuck up. You always put ideology before people. You always put empty words over real outcomes. This is at least the 3rd time in modern history you’ve pulled this type of stunt. You always get people killed when you try this shit, you briefly get real embarrassed and sheepish….and then you don’t learn, you repeat all of the same shit.
- If the Democrats have any sense they will dump all of you like the poison you are & try to build a coalition with other moderates & hopefully push those folks center-left. It sets us back at least fifteen years, it means we lose at least a million things that we desperately need - but hey, better than getting set back nearly sixty years & handing the country to the KKK because you lot pouted and threw away the election!
